Important !
When installing a new or rebuilt pump or even just the impeller, it is advisable that a small amount of liquid soap be applied to lubricate the dry impeller. This will help to protect the impeller until water reaches the pump.
Important !
When replacing the impeller, check the cam for wear. It is recommended that you carry at least a spare cam and impeller. Use the new cam to compare for wear. A worn cam will affect the efficiency and performance of the pump, it could also lead to overheating and subsequent engine damage.
Please refer to our Marine Overheating Guide for more information.
